The register
Every member with their branch, employer, classification and standing. Import the roster you already have as a CSV and it matches your column names.
Dues and arrears
Bill monthly, weekly or by pay period. See what is owed broken down by how old it is, because thirty days is a reminder and ninety is a different conversation.
Payments and receipts
Cash, cheque, card, bank transfer or payroll deduction — recorded against the right period, with a receipt the member can keep.
Grievances
Every case with its stage, its deadline and its whole history. The overview tells you which ones are about to time out, so a missed step never forfeits a case.
Reports
Membership registers, dues collected, arrears by age, the payment ledger and grievance outcomes — as a printable sheet, a CSV or an Excel file for the trustees.
A member portal
Members check their own balance and history from their phone instead of telephoning the office. It installs like an app and works on a bad connection.
Who can see what
A union holds two kinds of sensitive record and they should not sit in the same pair of hands. Your treasurer reconciles the money without reading anybody's phone number or date of birth. Your stewards run casework without seeing the books. Your membership secretary maintains the register without touching either.
That is not a settings page nobody configures — it is how the roles work out of the box, right down to what appears on the front page.
Where the data lives
Personal details and wage figures are encrypted in the database under a key that is not the application's own, so a stolen copy of the data is not a readable copy. Backups are encrypted before they are written.
Subject access requests, corrections and erasures are built in, with the statutory clock counted for you — and an erasure keeps the financial ledger intact, because a payment whose payer has vanished is a hole your treasurer cannot reconcile.
